Uet entry test cancelled

41,000 candidates appeared for entry tests for total 4,000 seats, but the test was already leaked. Dunya News aired news of the leaked paper first of all, prompting the Educational authorities to cancel the paper. Candidates told Dunya News that they solved exactly the same paper they had got beforehand. It was not immediately announced when would the test be conducted now. The test was conducted in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur. Other than these cities, tests are also being conducted in Taxila, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. The results of the tests were to be announced on August 3 at 11pm. Some 5,941 students applied for entry to Engineering College, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.
The test started simultaneously at University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, UET, Taxila, Bahauddin Zakariya University s Engineering College, Multan, Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), NFC Institute of Engineering Research and Fertiliser, Faisalabad, University of Gujrat, Siddique Public School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, KPK University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar and Balochistan Boys Scout Association Office, Quetta.

Separately, Entrance Test for Academic Session 2011-12 of the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar was successfully held Sunday at Col. Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium, Peshawar, and Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, simultaneously. The test was conducted by Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (ETEA) KP Government. Around 12,600 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including FATA, AJK and Gilgit Baltistan sat for entrance test. The results of the test will be announced in 36 hours, and will be available at websites of ETEA and UET and as well at main notice board of Engineering University’s Peshawar Campus.
At Peshawar Centre, a total of 10938 candidates appeared in the test, with 10569 male and 288 female candidates, for admission in engineering disciplines, while a total of 414 candidates appeared for Computer Science group, which include 384 male and 30 female candidates. At Abbottabad Centre among the 1574 candidates, there were 1404 male and 170 female candidates for engineering group, whereas 28 male and 15 female candidates for the computer science group appeared for the entrance test.
